Soema is a speculative design project exploring infrastructural conflict. An interactive sample collection allows users to physically touch macabre future building materials, created by recycling bodies of human victims for an exclusive showroom in 2052.

Soema explores infrastructural conflict through a reflection on the hidden human consequences of large-scale infrastructure projects. Starting from issues such as land expropriation, labour exploitation and deaths on construction sites, the project asks: “what if the bodies of those sacrificed by infrastructure development became building materials themselves?”. It envisions a future in which the principles of the circular economy are extended to human organic matter. Within this scenario, SOEMA emerges as a company that transforms what progress produces as waste into construction materials, reframing exploitation, sacrifice and loss through the language of sustainability and innovation.

"Undeclared" showcases Politecnico di Milano Communication Design projects using speculative design to expose hidden conflicts. Through destabilizing near-future scenarios, the exhibition questions societal structures we take for granted.

"Undeclared: Highlighting Hidden Conflicts through Communication and Speculative Design" is an exhibition presenting the projects from Final Synthesis Studio C1 of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design, School of Design, Politecnico di Milano. Through a series of speculative design projects, the exhibition explores the theme of conflict by examining future scenarios that reflect and interpret the tensions and challenges of the present. Undeclared offers a critical reflection on the processes that shape contemporary society, highlighting how seemingly neutral structures can contribute to situations of tension and conflict. The exhibition brings together the projects developed by the students: an explorative journey that uses communication design as a means of critique and engagement with the complexity ofvcurrent times. The projects on display bring to life scenarios that, despite not being drawn from thevpresent, are set at such a distance that they feel both familiar and unsettling. In such a way, new ways of living, communicating and interpreting reality emerge, challenging what is taken for granted.

Omissis is an audio experience that explores censorship by transforming declassified Epstein case documents into AI-generated vocal testimonies using Epstein's own voice.

Omissis is a sound design experience exploring governmental and media censorship through the heavily redacted Epstein case documents. The project transforms fragments from millions of released files into AI-synthesized audio testimonies using Epstein’s own voice. Textual omissions are replaced by precisely timed beeps that match the exact duration of the censored content. These audio tracks are then merged into a single composition that layers and progressively muffles the voices, reflecting the deliberate confusion created by an overwhelming, yet selectively hidden, archive. As the piece evolves, the censorship itself becomes the only element that remains truly audible.
